Our Story
How Sombat Came to Be
Sombat was established in Bangkok to address a straightforward gap — families dealing with the estate of someone they had lost were often passed between offices, given dense documents with little explanation, and left to manage unfamiliar legal requirements at the worst possible time.
Our practice was built specifically around that experience. We work only in inheritance and estate matters, which means every case we handle involves a family navigating something personal and, often, emotionally complex. That focus shapes everything from how we answer the phone to how we draft a document.
We are based on Charoen Nakhon Road in Khlong San, a short walk from the river and central Bangkok. We see clients by appointment, which allows us to give each family the time their situation deserves.
Our Mission
To make inheritance legal work accessible and understandable for every family — regardless of the size or complexity of the estate — and to do that work with genuine respect for the people involved.
Our Approach
We move at your pace. We explain before we proceed. We do not assume that because something is routine for us, it is straightforward for you. And we keep you informed throughout, without unnecessary complexity.
Our Values
Honesty, patience, and discretion. We will tell you clearly what something involves, how long it may take, and what it costs — and we will not rush you toward decisions before you feel ready.

How We Work
Professional Standards
The commitments we hold to in every case we take on.
Qualified & Registered
All legal work is carried out by attorneys registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand, operating under Thai Bar standards.
Strict Confidentiality
Client and family information is held under professional secrecy obligations. No details are shared beyond what the legal process requires.
Written Scope of Work
Before any service begins, we put in writing what will be done, what it will cost, and what is outside the scope — so there are no surprises.
Regular Communication
We keep clients informed at each stage, not only when there is something for them to sign. Families can always reach us with questions between appointments.
Compliance with Thai Law
All procedures follow the Civil and Commercial Code of Thailand and applicable probate court requirements in Bangkok.
Plain-Language Explanations
We do not hand over legal documents without explaining what they mean. Every document is walked through clearly in plain English before it is signed.
Inheritance Legal Work in Bangkok
Estate matters in Thailand involve a particular set of legal requirements — probate court filings, asset verification, heirship documentation, and often coordination with government departments. Families managing an estate while also grieving the loss of someone close to them deserve legal support that is both technically sound and humanly considerate.
Sombat works within the Thai Civil and Commercial Code, which governs inheritance in Thailand, and draws on practical experience handling cases at Bangkok courts. We assist Thai nationals and expatriate families, and are comfortable working in cases where assets include both property in Bangkok and matters relating to foreign beneficiaries.
We do not take on every type of legal work — our practice focuses on estate matters specifically. This means the attorneys at Sombat have handled many cases similar to the one your family may be facing, and bring that background to each new situation.
